    Geo-spatial analytical tools have become an critical element in the field of transportation. In the past few years, large amount of public transportation data have been captured. Together with social-economical data, transport demand is modeled. However, the traditional approach requires great amount of time and cost on conducting household surveys. With the improvement of mobile devices and the increasing number of social media posts, there are more and more data on human mobility based on which information could potentially be extracted. This paper applies quantitative, textual, and image mining techniques to explore the possibility of short-term transportation demand forecast. Furthermore, real-world datasets from Insagram together with the demand data of the Taipei Metro Rapid Transit system are demonstrated in this work.(more detail....)
